Variety Pack

For this assignment I wanted to make drawings of my two closest friends, Kenedy and Claire. The three of us have been friends since the fourth grade and in that time have shared many of our life experiences together. Growing up my mom always called us the variety pack due to our appearances and our personalities. Kenedy is quick to react, energetic and sincere. Claire is more tightly wound, guarded and analytical. I fall somewhere in between, constantly moving between my emotions and cold logic. In addition, we each had very different upbringings and were instilled with very different values. The three of us are about as different as people can be, and that's why we balance each other so well. 

For this project I wanted to capture the warmth of Claire's spirit that people don't see, and the calmness of Kenedy's. I chose my colors and reference photos accordingly. Due to some unfortunate and unexpected circumstances in my life I was unable to finish Kenedy's portrait to the same level as Claire's, but I have every intention of finishing it soon.
