Observing the Moon

Mr. Palomer observes the moon very deeply. He thinks about something that most people wouldn't think about twice, which is the moon in the afternoon. What I think is meant by this is to sometimes take time to think and observe every detail of something that you might usually ignore. By doing this you might find beauty in something that you had never before. I enjoyed reading this because it brought back memories of times when I had observed the moon. Especially the line, "In any case, following it steadily, you do not realize that it is imperceptibly eluding you. Only the clouds intervene to create the illusion of a rapid dash and rapid metamorphoses, or, rather, to underline vividly what would otherwise escape the eye." This brought back memories of a night that I spent fishing with my cousins. It was a special night because it was one of the last days before I left for basic military training. We stayed out all night and the moon was very bright. At the end of the night, we all looked at the moon and one of my cousins was in disbelief that the moon had dramatically changed positions in the sky.

Response to Terra: Interesting take no it. The thought of "How do you analyze every little crack and Crevice spot and color, on something so beautiful that only comes out at night, But how does that thing notice you when it's not around to notice you or you have not made yourself aware to its presents" had not come to my mind.

Response to Julija: As I read the story I also thought that Mr. Palomar might have been thinking a bit too much. I don't relate to you much because sometimes I can think about things too little. Maybe the meaning of the story is meant to reach people like me.
