Frances

For this challenge I decided to paint my best friend Frances. She lives in Cincinnati for her job and I don't get to see her often. We would usually do trips every 2 months and see each other for our birthdays. Since my birthday is in June we aren't sure if we will be able to celebrate. Th last time I saw her was in February for her birthday. When picturing how to draw her I knew that I had I to make her into a cartoon because my realism isn't the best. So I wanted to focus on her defining characteristics. I exaggerated her hair and lips and make sure that her signature beauty mark was in the portrait. After a rough sketch I began to add the details with the paint. She loves this piece and can't wait to see to in person.
