challenge 2

These are people I can’t see because of the recent isolation. The first one is a pencil drawing of Abby painting in the park. The reference for this was taken a couple of years ago when we were painting in the park during our oil painting class. I’ve noticed that I think more about wanting to get in contact with my friends, even the ones I haven’t taken to in years. I was remembering the time that this was taken when we were spending time together even though it was doing class. This is something I do with many of my friends, even the ones that are not artists. I think art is something anyone can do without worrying about how it turns out.
The second example is from a reference taken of my mother when she was in her early twenties. She struggles with low self-esteem and body dysmorphia so I wanted to use a picture of her from when she was younger and change it to resemble her more recent self. I changed the lighting and slightly changed the shape of her face. I also wanted to add texture and line variation to make it more interesting.

The third one is a drawing from a reference of my grandfather taken during a family reunion. The recent isolation has caused many problems for my families all over. With the stay at home order many people are unable to visit family during troubling times. Nursing homes are closed to visitors unless there is a sudden change in the loved ones health, however, there is still no guarantee that they can be visited.
