The Life of the Fisherman

  For this project I took inspiration from my uncle's paintings and sketches. I have about 9 complete sketchbooks in my apartment and flipped through and found this sketch of a fisherman. He was always intrigued by nature and people and for me I wanted to recreate this with my own perspective, but still thinking about his own process and perspective and integrating the two together.  I think that his style is very loose and mine is more tight. I kinda made it loose, but I tightened the lines up a bit and shaded more than what was in the original. I also added color, as an experiment and debated on whether or not I should put it in the post, but I did below. He also used to tape his references for his paintings so when drawing this, the paper was too small and so I added extra paper and taped it like he would have done.
