Mouse Studio

For my creative space I chose to use made and found objects, and create a scene that could fit on my windowsill. I like to imagine being as small as a mouse, and being able to climb up onto a ledge in my home, shut myself in a small box, and get to work. Plus, who wouldn't want to use a spool of thread as a stool? I've included my cat, some mini polaroids which I always keep in my workspaces, and lots of patterns and colors. Feeling secluded and having resources larger than life would be a comfortable and exciting challenge--Imagining myself getting art supplies a la 'Borrowers' would be so incredibly fun. Hopefully my cats wouldn't try and eat me.
I can't say I necessarily sketched my idea to brainstorm, but rather went at the challenge in a 'grab everything' collage style and pieced together patterns I enjoyed with comforts that I would like in my pretend mouse studio. Using swatches of fabric and pattern examples, I pieced together something comfortable and fun, without being too overwhelming in a miniature space.
