Moon in the Afternoon
Requires Attention
I think the meaning behind this text is to notice the little things, things that are always there however we probably always skim over, paying no mind to. Also I think it is about patience and deep detail/observation. Mr. Palomar waits all day observing the moon starting from in the afternoon when it is least noticeable to nighttime when it stands out brightly, hard to miss. That is when he goes home. This is different because most people go out to see the moon intentionally only when it is night. The detail in this text implies Mr. Palomar has spent a great deal of time observing and noting everything about the moon and its patterns. The way the text is scripted is going through the day, afternoon, to evening, to night time, and how the moon appears against each phase of the sky.
I think the lesson in this text is to be more observant of everyday things you pay little to no detail to, to appreciate them. To ask more questions about everything and the deeper meaning behind everything. Often we get so caught up in our own everyday lives we stop asking questions and trying to learn new things. We should all take a breather and just simply observe the sky, or nature more often.
Replying to Kennedy: I appreciate how we both noted the changing of the sky, and used it differently in our interpretation of the meaning.
Replying to Faris: I like how you related the moon to emotions and human growth, I wouldn't have thought of it that way.
