Melting Into The Midnight Sun

I'm melting into the midnight sun

Yet again I've made a playlist for this project based around the sun and all its connotations. Here's the link: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5Tnj7tS61tCwzbMXxXfEQD?si=xv0UJc37RtmNoR518E4uKw

Some of the song I included:
Saulė- jautì
Sun King- 2019 Mix- The Beatles
Saullēkts- The Bad Tones
Midnight Sun- The GOASTT

Before starting this project I had a bit of a kitchen accident that involved burning oil, going to the ER, and crab rangoons. To make a long story short, I can no longer use my dominant hand. It was frightening and I've been frustrated and been feeling pretty down. I'm not sure what the rest of the semester holds for me now that I can't make art the way I am used to or practice my hobbies like guitar... but here we go.
(On the bright side, I got some pretty nasty looking reference photos for future use!)

The art I chose was this lil coconut sun. My family and I are very into the whole sun motif and at home we have many sun things with strange faces. The sun is something that holds much meaning to me.

My sad attempt at drawing left handed. This took me way too long. My left hand has absolutely no motor control!

Here's the little thumbnail I used drawing with my cast hand. Incredibly difficult to hold and apply pressure but I did it!!

I also tried to make a little drawing in Minecraft since I can use the mouse a little easier than with writing tools. I think she turned out pretty cute!

Here is the finished product. It's obviously not my greatest work and my hand hurts like hell now!! It took about 10x as long to make this and it was difficult to control the pencil. I used prismacolor pencils on some paper(I'm running pretty low noon supplies!). I have two versions here with different lighting. The first one has more of a true color with the purple background but I also like the black background. I am somewhat satisfied with the result and I'd like to continue with this sun motif in the future.
