Ever Changing Ways
Mr Palomar, " Moon in the Afternoon"
Ever Changing Ways
I think Mr. Palomar's Moon in the Afternoon is so beautiful. I took a longer one of his sentences to go off of. " The moon the most changeable body in the visible universe and most regular in its complicated habits; it never fails to show up for an appointment, and you can always wait for it at the appointed spot; but if you leave it in one place, you always find it next in another, and if you recall its face turned in a certain way, you see it has already changed its pose, a little or a lot".
This little paragraph really got to me. It not only makes me think of the beauty of the moon and its ever changing phases. It is not only something that is always there just in a different spot. It does hide during the day where you slightly see its soft glow, but it shines ever so bright at night, with its beautiful glowing splendor. But this is something that does not only happen to the moon in the phases, with its never ending ways. This is how I look or understand that It is like our planet also and its ever changing seasons. The seasons change like clockwork just like the moon give or take lately. But we all know when these changes are coming. From flowers blooming and the plants emerging with leaves, we know spring is upon us. Where when the days get hotter and our plants are at their peaks, we know it is summer. The leaves start turning the oranges, reds and yellows and they start falling, we know that fall is here. Lastly when it gets a chill in the air and frost starts nipping your nose and the frost starts to cover the ground winter is upon us. This is just an example of the changes that we see in our own world that reminds me of the ever changing ways of the moon and it's phases. I feel we take all this for granted and don't see the absolute beauty in it. We brush it all off instead of soaking it all in and enjoying it. Mr. Palomar feels to me like a man that enjoys the things that we notice and he sees the beauty in such a romantic artistic way. It was an amazing little read.

The post I did on two classmates,
On Alana's post;
I absolutely love the way your words flow. You are absolutely right about people taking the time in their day to observe the moon or any natural and beautiful thing. Things do get looked past that are everyday beauty. Lots of times things taken for granted.
On Ali Valenzuela;
He was very much an observer of things that people overlook and don't enjoy when they are right in front of us. I think you are correct when you say he is telling us to self discover and observe the world with different eyes.
The Earth’s seasonality is a great comparison to the moon. Today may not look any different than yesterday, but there could be noticeable changes today compared to a month or two ago. Similarly with the moon, it may look identical to itself on the next day but in a week it will be in a new phase. I also agree with how we take things for granted the more present they are in day to day life.
